Comptel Enters New Industry and Delivers Fulfillment Solution to Brazilian Utility Company

Solution to streamline process management and resource assignment for the utility's complex and distributed network infrastructure

HELSINKI, Finland - Comptel Corporation (NASDAQ OMX Helsinki: CTL1V) today announced that a leading producer and distributor of hydroelectric energy in Brazil has chosen Comptel Fulfillment technology to improve visibility into its existing telephony network and infrastructure. Comptel Fulfillment was chosen to promote fast, accurate and consistent service enablement as the company required a solution to remedy the challenge of managing a rapidly expanding network infrastructure that carries ever-increasing numbers of services.

As part of Comptel's fulfillment solution, the utility company will deploy Comptel Order Management and Comptel Service and Resource Inventory to bridge customer orders with precise service use, providing end-to-end service order orchestration and streamlined management of network resources. This will provide the company with a consolidated inventory of networks, maintaining a view of the physical, logical and service inventory required to deliver services. It will benefit from process automation across multiple networks and service platforms to ensure streamlined product and service deployments, which will result in cost savings.

Key Facts

· With this deal, Comptel is extending its expertise of enabling telecommunications service providers to achieve optimal performance, enhanced revenue streams and increased customer satisfaction to the utilities industry. Considering the parallels between the complex data and networks within the utilities and telecommunications sectors, Comptel's solutions are fully replicable to other utilities and industries that manage large internal networks, such as mining and banking.

· Comptel Fulfillment streamlines all service delivery functionality-including comprehensive order workflow and management, service and resource inventory, technical service catalog, and provisioning and activation-into a single platform that can manage converged services in a network-agnostic environment. This approach results in a consolidated service perspective, improved asset management and, ultimately, a lower total-cost-of-ownership (TCO).

· Comptel Order Management provides end-to-end control of the customer order, from capture to a fully enabled service, through a common processing platform. It can process all types of service orders, from simple requests to complex bundles, regardless of the network technologies or application platforms.

· Comptel Service and Resource Inventory provides a highly flexible context-sensitive and standards-based inventory management capability, adaptable to changing and converging network technologies. It allows information to be easily recorded, calculated and monitored, supporting the analytical and operational tasks required to maintain optimal network capacity and service quality. Additionally, it offers an accurate reflection of the actual network, helping to maximise revenue, reduce operational investment, keep track of network assets, and provide more consistent and efficient fulfillment.
