New Product Crimps with Industry-Standard Tooling
HARRISBURG, Pa. - March. 12, 2007 - Tyco Electronics Corporation has introduced UTILUX copper compression terminals and splices. The new line of UTILUX copper compression terminals and splices is ideally suited for secondary power distribution in buildings, power plants, electrical equipment as well as many other industrial and commercial applications. UTILUX copper compression terminals and splices are installed with industry standard tooling and are color coded per industry standards as well.
The UTILUX line of copper compression terminals and splices is made from high conductivity, seamless ETP copper for optimal electrical and mechanical performance. The product line is precision heat-treat tempered for enhanced crimping performance. Each terminal and splice is tin plated for corrosion resistance.
The UTILUX terminal product line is compatible with cable ranging from 6AWG up to 1,000 MCM and accommodates termination with compact, compressed or stranded copper conductors. Single-hole terminals are available with a standard barrel or a long barrel. Additionally a two-hole, long barrel terminal offering is available and accepts 4AWG up to 1,000 MCM. UTILUX copper compression splices also accept 6AWG up to 1,000 MCM and accommodate concentric, compact or stranded copper conductors. UTILUX terminals and splices are rated for up to 35 kV.
UTILUX copper compression terminals and splices are suitable for OEM applications and have recently been added to Tyco Electronics Energy Division's commercial products merchandising program. The commercial products merchandising program is open to all electrical distributors and features products from brands like Raychem, AMP, Buchanan and ALR.
