Composite Metal Cored Electrode welds aluminized material.

Press Release Summary:

Intended for welding of ferritic stainless steel, particularly on thin section, aluminized material, Select FP 409Ti comes in .045 in. dia and provides stable spray arc over diverse current/voltage settings with minimal spatter and no burn-through on thin material. Titanium acts as stabilizing agent to provide oxidation and corrosion resistance. Furthermore, resistance to sensitization reduces chances of stress corrosion cracking when welding over lubricants, oils, and other hydrocarbons.

New Electrode Welds Aluminized Material

Fort Loramie, OH – Select-Arc, Inc. introduces Select FP 409Ti, a composite metal cored electrode specifically designed for the welding of ferritic stainless steel, particularly on thin section, aluminized material. Titanium acts as the stabilizing agent to provide oxidation and corrosion resistance.

Select FP 409Ti provides a stable spray arc over a wide range of current and voltage settings with minimal spatter and literally no burn-through on thin material. It offers excellent resistance to sensitization, which reduces the chances of stress corrosion cracking when welding over lubricants, oils and other hydrocarbons, and reduces reject rates and cycle times..

Available in an .045” diameter, Select FP 409Ti easily performs on any power source over a broad spectrum of pulse programs. Typical applications are components fabricated from sheet stock such as manifolds, mufflers, catalytic converters and exhaust tubing.
