Belden Brilliance Banana Peel Hi-Res Component Video Cables Optimize Performance, Reduce Installation Time

New 75-ohm precision analog video cables meet high-end RGB transmission requirements of large screen video, HDTV, high-res CAD, animation, editing and special effects. Patented Banana Peel composite cable design makes installation fast and easy.

RICHMOND, IN - Belden CDT Electronics Division, a unit of Belden CDT Inc., and a world leader in the development of specialty cable products for A/V, broadcast and entertainment applications, announces a new addition to its Brilliance line. Brilliance Banana Peel Hi-Res Component Video Cables are designed for higher frequency, longer distance transmissions. They feature precise 75-ohm impedance to provide greater signal integrity and optimized whole-system performance in the most demanding applications - such as high-resolution video on large screens, VGA, HDTV, high-res CAD, animation, editing and special effects video.

Belden Hi-Res Component Video Cables are ideal for high-resolution VGA monitor and projection imaging in a host of settings, including corporate boardrooms, command and control centers, multi-purpose auditoriums, teleconferencing centers, post-production facilities, and sophisticated home theaters.

Belden's Patented Banana Peel Design Streamlines Installation

Belden Hi-Res Component Video Cables are now bundled via Belden's Banana Peel design in which the individual coax cables are affixed to a center spline, eliminating the need for an outer jacket. This patented design results in faster, easier installation and lower labor costs - installers just peel the individual cables off the center spline and they are ready for termination. Color coding and clearly visible print legends also make the individual cable components easy to identify. In addition, the jacketless composite cables are more flexible than traditional cables and have a smaller diameter, so the cable's overall bend radius is improved and use of a smaller size conduit is possible.

Belden Banana Peel High-Res cables are offered in two sizes to fit any distance and any requirement:

- 25 AWG. Series 1281 and Series 1282 bundled cables are comprised of Mini RG-59 coaxes. They feature 25 AWG solid tinned copper conductors for lower attenuation and easier termination, flexible PVC jackets, and high frequency Beldfoil shields, used in combination with Belden's unique interlocked copper serve shields for 100 percent coverage. Both series are 850 MHz sweep tested, with Return Loss levels fully documented and guaranteed. Depending on the horizontal scan rate, SVGA signals can be transmitted 150-180 feet - based on a 6dB loss budget. (Series 1281 cables are CMR-rated Banana Peel versions of Belden's popular 1279R jacketed styles. Series 1282 cables are CMP-rated Banana Peel versions of 1279P jacketed styles.)

- 20 AWG. Series 1283 bundled cables are comprised of RG-59 style plenum-rated Precision Video coaxes. These cables feature 20 AWG solid bare copper center conductors, Beldfoil shields used in combination with 95 percent tinned copper shield braids, and flexible PVC jackets rated for plenum use. Since these cables are based on Belden 1506A, installers can use standard connectors and tools. The cables are 3 GHz sweep tested, with Return Loss levels fully documented and guaranteed. Depending on the horizontal scan rate, SVGA signals can be transmitted 330-390 feet - based on a 6dB loss budget.
