charlottesville, va april 11, 2007 Demonstrating the company's leadership in the development of solutions for deployment in demanding environments, GE Fanuc Embedded Systems today announced the IMPCC2 3U CompactPCI single board computer (SBC) and Multifunction PMC Carrier Card - the latest member of the PowerPact 3 family. Available in five air- and conduction-cooled ruggedization levels, the IMPCC2 is characterized by an SBC power dissipation of only five watts - significantly less than that of competing products. Highly flexible, it can be used in a range of applications from a self-contained single slot embedded computer to a 'dumb' carrier card with add-on I/O functionality.
"The IMPCC2 is an extremely versatile product, offering a broad range of capabilities that can allow the development of complete 3U systems with the minimum number of slots," said Richard Kirk, Product Manager at GE Fanuc Embedded Systems. "Deployed either standalone or used in conjunction with other PowerPact 3 boards - and combined with the extremely compact RT4 rugged 4-slot chassis - it is ideal for solutions in defense and aerospace that are constrained by space, weight and power."

The IMPCC2 provides support for a wide range of GE Fanuc Embedded Systems and third party PMCs.
Available with comprehensive operating system and Deployed Test support, first shipments of the IMPCC2 will occur in the second quarter of 2007.
