Lincoln Electric Introduces Industry's First True Compact High Performance Industrial Inverter Welding System

Power Wave(TM) 355 with Power Feed(TM) 10 - High Performance Welding System Now Available in a Ready-Pak(TM) Version

Cleveland, Ohio -- The Power Wave(TM) 355 / Power Feed(TM) 10 welding system is comprised of a high-efficiency inverter power source and a rugged industrial wire feeder designed to work specifically with Lincoln's Power Wave units. The Power Wave 355 features Waveform Control Technology(TM), which controls and shapes the output waveform to produce optimal arc characteristics for almost any MIG (GMAW), Pulsed MIG (GMAW-P) or flux-cored (FCAW) welding application, including those on exotic alloys.

Now, the system is available in a Ready-Pak package, which takes the guesswork out of specifying necessary equipment and accessories. Order using a single product ordering number and receive a fully assembled, pre-connected package with all the welding equipment you need to get started. The Ready-Pak includes the Power Wave 355 power source, Power Feed 10, MSP2 interface panel, drive roll and guide tube kits, Magnum® 400 gun and cable kit, work and wire feeder power cable package, inverter and wire feeder cart, and Harris® flowmeter regulator. Welding consumables, shielding gas and personal safety accessories (gloves, welding helmet), are not included.

Lincoln's Waveform Control Technology and the Power Wave's 350 amp rating make this welding system ideal for fabrication shops demanding a robust multi-process welding system with the ability to control and customize the arc to suit any application.

The system's digital communications between the wire feeder and the power source allows the operator to monitor the arc and make adjustments immediately. Tighter control of weld processes, process versatility and weld consistency are what sets this system apart.

Since the system uses one common control cable for all components, configuration, ordering and set-up is much easier than traditional welding systems. With the Power Wave 355 and Power Feed 10 extension cable design, additional cables can be added to extend, rather than replace, existing cables.

Power Source:
The heart of the new system is the Power Wave 355, Lincoln's digitally-controlled inverter power source.

The Power Wave 355 features Waveform Control Technology, the foundation of many of Lincoln's advanced processes, such as Power Mode(TM) and Pulse-On-Pulse(TM). Power Mode provides enhanced low-end welding performance, and the Pulse-On-Pulse process for aluminum MIG (GMAW) welding controls the arc length and heat input together, which makes it easier to produce high quality welds. Pulse-On-Pulse allows an operator to make great looking beads at faster travel speeds than conventional pulse or CV MIG processes.

The Power Wave 355 is energy efficient (88%) and can handle high output applications while still producing precise welds. Providing 350 amps at a 60% duty cycle maximum rated output and 300 amps at a 100% duty cycle, the Power Wave 355 is capable of Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW short-arc and spray), Synergic MIG, pulsed MIG (GMAW-P), Flux-cored self and gas-shielded (FCAW - Innershield® and Outershield®) processes.

Wire Feeder:
The Power Feed 10 wire feeder is designed specifically for use with Power Wave power sources. It provides complete control of all welding parameters at the feeder and allows the user/operator to select the right welding output waveform by using the Mode Selector Switch on its front panel.

Lincoln's Power Feed 10 wire feeder features 4-driven rolls in a heavy duty wire drive system that produces powerful drive torque accurately feed virtually any wire type. The drive is made of sturdy cast aluminum for durability. Knurled knobs are used throughout the drive system so that no tools are required to change drive rolls or split wire guides.

Users also benefit from the Power Feed's new one-piece split wire guide system. This guide ensures precise alignment throughout the wire feeder and allows for positive wire loading. In addition, a new tension adjustment system automatically applies pressure when the feed door is closed.

The Lincoln Electric Company, Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of arc welding equipment and consumables, robotic welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment.
