Compact UV Lamp Reveals Surface Flaws in Confined Areas
Westbury, New York - Spectronics Corporation's C-100P high-intensity ultraviolet lamp was developed to make it easier to conduct NDT inspections in limited access areas. The lamp head is only 51/2" x 8" (14 cm x 20 cm), which is about one-half the size of conventional 100-watt UV lamps.
The lamp features a 100-watt spot bulb that delivers a steady-state UV intensity of 4,000 µW/cm² at 15 inches (38 cm), making the faintest contamination or flaw clearly visible. The bulb has an average rated life of 5,000 hours.
The C-100P has a flexible, heat-resistant filter holder that virtually eliminates filter movement during use. It also reduces the risk of breakage and prevents any visible light leakage. The holder can be removed in seconds to change the bulb or filter - without any tools.
The lamp is powered by a magnetic ballast encapsulated in a high-impact plastic housing. Its lightweight, ergonomic design and stay-cool pistol grip assure many hours of fatigue-free inspections.
