CHICAGO - Littelfuse, Inc. (Nasdaq: LFUS), the pioneer of Indicator® fuses, today introduced the POWR-GARD® LF Series of next-generation fuse blocks - DIN-releasable, compact, indicating fuse blocks that feature a modern design and universal mounting holes for drop-in replacement. OEMs and panel shops will appreciate the ability to reduce the size of enclosures and simplified installation due to snap-to-release DIN-rail mounting features. Local Indication Reduces Downtime

The LF Series Fuseblocks offer local indication via neon light, providing obvious and immediate notification when a fuse is open, which can significantly reduce downtime because operators can quickly identify which fuse to replace. For added safety, fuse blocks may be used with Littelfuse Indicator fuses that show a darkened window when the fuse has opened.

Compact Size Saves Panel Space

Compared to typical fuse blocks, the LF Series Fuseblocks reduce space requirements by up to 30 percent, fitting three fuses in the same space that many competing units can accommodate only two. By switching to the new fuse blocks, OEM product designers may be able to reduce the size of their panel enclosures to reduce cost, or they can create extra room in the panel for added features. In any case, the smaller design makes wiring and assembly much easier and gives a cleaner, more elegant look to the overall solution.

DIN-Rail Mounting and Universal Mounting Holes Ease Installation

DIN-rail mounting is especially valuable to panel shops and OEMs, who make frequent changes during both design and production. A snap-to-release feature allows a fuse block to be easily mounted and released from 35 mm "hat" DIN rail, greatly reducing the time it takes to move blocks around within a panel when specifications or system needs change. In addition, each fuse block has universal mounting holes, making it easy to replace older technology with new and improved fuse blocks.
