Compact Directional Control Valve offer high flow rate.

Press Release Summary:

For directional control and piloting applications, Numatics 501 Series general-purpose automation valve lets engineers achieve flow of 15–20 mm valve in more compact package. Pressure shut-off option permits replacement of individual valves without stopping production process, while combination of pressure regulator and Numasizing® engineering tool can minimize air and energy consumption. Also available, dual 3-way version enables placement of two 3-way valves in space of 4-way valve.

ASCO Numatics Introduces Numatics 501 Series Directional Control Valve; Features High Flow in Compact Package

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – ASCO Numatics has introduced its Numatics 501 Series directional control valve. The general purpose automation valve is designed for directional control and piloting applications requiring compact size, high flow capability, and energy savings.

"Our new 501 Series valve delivers up to two times greater flow than previous models," said Robert W. Kemple, Jr., executive vice president, sales and marketing – Americas, ASCO Numatics. "Now, engineers can achieve the flow of a 15 mm to 20 mm valve in a more compact package, saving space, cost, and energy in their machine designs. In addition, no other valve in its class offers such a broad range of pressure regulator, pressure shut-off, and exhaust flow control accessories," Kemple said.

The pressure shut-off option permits users to replace individual valves without stopping their production process – reducing line downtime and maintenance. The combination of the pressure regulator and the Numasizing® engineering tool can dramatically minimize air and energy consumption. The valve's modular design also permits easy configuration and modification.

The new sub-base mounted valve is well suited for in-panel valve piloting applications. Its high flow rate, compact size, and optional mounting plate enable efficient use of cabinet space. A dual three-way version enables the placement of two, three-way valves in the space of a four-way valve.

New 580 Electronics Platform Features Fieldbus Networking

ASCO Numatics also has introduced an affordable electronics platform for the Numatics 501/503 Series valves. This new 580node platform allows the use of a fieldbus network to control the valve manifold. Its compact footprint makes it highly functional for in-panel environments. The 580 platform incorporates a plain-language digital display and diagnostics that indicate status for easy configuration and commissioning.

The 501 Series directional control valve and 580 electronics platform are ideal for applications in the life science, food and beverage, high-technology, and light packaging equipment industries.
