Next Generation Data Bus Enhances Connection between Raymarine Electronics

MERRIMACK, N.H., Oct. 4 Raymarine, Inc., a world leader in marine electronics, today announced the SeaTalkng Next Generation Data Bus, a robust CAN based network that delivers seamless integration between Raymarine's instruments, autopilots and multifunction displays, as well as with other NMEA2000 compatible devices. The new network allows boaters to easily connect all of their compatible devices to create a single onboard system, and also provides power to certain products, such as Raymarine's new ST70 Multifunction Instruments.

"As more and more electronic innovations are introduced into the boating industry, interconnectivity between these devices becomes extremely important," said Terry Carlson, president of Raymarine. "With our SeaTalkng network, boaters can now connect all of their Raymarine onboard electronics through a simple plug-and-play interface, optimizing the data these devices provide, and ultimately enhancing their experience on the water."

An interconnection bus for Raymarine products, the SeaTalkng network comprises a main backbone to which Raymarine and other compatible products are connected via spur cables. These rugged, waterproof connectors feature a very small diameter design to allow for passing through bulkheads and other areas with limited access. The cables also include color coded connectors that make the SeaTalkng network extremely easy and straightforward to install. A wide range of different cable lengths and three-way, five-way and in-line connection pieces are available to provide flexibility and eliminate the need for cutting and splicing.

Adaptor cables are also available to connect NMEA2000 compatible products, although additional cables may be required for some connections. For additional information, please visit www.raymarine.com.
