Communication Converters control 8+ devices from 1 USB Port.

Press Release Summary:

USBS 1000 and 2000 series serial communication converters enable communication with serial-port devices using RS-232/422/485/530 serial protocols. Working with systems that support V1.1 USB in hardware and OS, converters are powered from USB cable and are automatically configured by computer. USBS 1000 units support speeds of 461 kbps or less and buffers no larger than 16 bytes. USBS 2000 converters run at 921.6 kbps and provide buffers of 128 bytes (TX) and 384 bytes (RX).

Original Press Release:

Control 8 or More Serial Devices from One USB Port

New USBS serial communication converters from CyberResearch® make it easy for computers with USB ports to communicate with older serial-port devices. All of the classic serial protocols are covered: RS-232/422/485/530. Now you can establish serial communications without ever opening your computer case.

USBS 1000 and 2000 series converters from CyberResearch, Inc. eliminate the need for such system resources as I/O ports and IRQs to support serial communications. All models require a computer system that supports V1.1 USB both in hardware and operating system.

Once you have loaded the free software, your computer automatically configures both series of converters. There's no need to fuss with jumpers and DIP switches. All CyberResearch USBS converters are powered from the USB cable. They need no additional power if the upstream USB port can supply 500 mA.

USBS 1000 converters offer optional surge protection for tough industrial environments. They are recommended where speeds less than 461 kbps and buffers no larger than 16 bytes are appropriate. USBS 2000 converters run at 921.6 kbps and provide buffers of 128 bytes (TX) and 384 bytes (RX).

In addition to USBS converters - now shipping from stock - CyberResearch, Inc., also offers industrial-grade PCs and workstations, as well as data-acquisition and motion-control systems. For more information on our products, call Joe Tetreault at 800-341-2525, or visit www.cyberresearch.com.
