CommScope to Showcase Bandwidth-Enabling Solutions at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Orlando

PON, Edge QAM and CCAP Platform to be displayed

SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2012

HICKORY, N.C. - CommScope, Inc., a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks, will showcase its complete bandwidth-enabling portfolio, including its new Passive Optical Network (PON) solution and upcoming Converge Cable Access Platform (CCAP) platform during the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® October 17-19 in Orlando.

"We believe CommScope is unique in offering a complete solution portfolio allowing operators to provide consumers with today's advanced services while also preparing them for demands of the future."

"CommScope continues to introduce infrastructure that connects people and technologies through every evolution, as well as assist operators on what technologies to deploy to support their ever increasing demand for bandwidth," said Ric Johnsen, senior vice president, Broadband, CommScope. "We believe CommScope is unique in offering a complete solution portfolio allowing operators to provide consumers with today's advanced services while also preparing them for demands of the future."

The new PON family of solutions provides MSOs (multiple system operators) the ability to deliver advanced voice, video and data services to their subscribers using fiber optic networks. The solution has been designed to be deployed in various situations including residential FTTx, access networks for commercial accounts, multi-dwelling units, commercial in-building, security and building automation and wireless access points.

In addition to the PON solution, CommScope will once again display its award-winning Universal Wideband Edge QAM solution, the LxS-16016. The Universal Wideband Edge QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) solution maximizes a network's flexibility, allowing operators to roll out their existing MPEG video and DOCSIS® data and voice services. It also supports higher bandwidth and next-generation IP based services over HFC (hybrid fiber coax) networks without the need for additional hardware or service disruptions. It is designed to reduce power consumption in headend/hub environments through consolidation of equipment.

For the first time, CommScope will showcase its upcoming CCAP platform-the CSP (Converged Services Platform) family of products-to the industry. The CSP product line takes the industry-leading capabilities of our current Edge QAM solution (Universal Wideband) and adds support for DOCSIS upstream and MAC (media access control), native IP processing and EPON/EPOC (EPON over Coax) support in a denser, more scalable platform.

CommScope will continue to advise MSOs on how to add intelligence into their networks, allowing them to make adjustments to parameters improving network performance and increasing overall operational efficiency. CommScope will also participate in the SCTE Smart Energy Management Showcase (Booth No. 11), where it will show a presentation on its various energy management solutions, including its hydrogen fuel cell.

Several CommScope experts will speak on various topics on SCTE's Center Stage. The schedule is as follows:

· Wednesday, October 17 at 2:30 p.m.
