J.W. Miller's New High Inductance Common Mode Chokes Provide High EMI Impedance

GARDENA, Calif. - Aug. 29, 2005 - J.W. Miller Magnetics has introduced the new RoHS compliant through-hole 7400 and 7500 Series of Common Mode Inductors designed to provide noise-suppression capabilities for a variety of applications. With proper design, these inductors can successfully reduce or completely eliminate unwanted conductive EMI.

Featuring high inductance in a compact footprint, the new common mode inductors are particularly well-suited for application as line filters in switch mode power supplies commonly used in desktop computers, industrial electronics, office equipment, and consumer electronics such as TVs, DVDs and audio equipment.

The smallest of the series, Model 7400, measures 19.0 mm wide x 21.0 mm high, allowing high-density placement in space-restrictive board layout designs. Depending on model, inductance values range from 0.6 - 45.0mH. Other performance characteristics include an operating temperature of -55 to +105°C, rated voltage of 250VAC and dielectric strength of 3750Vrms. DC resistance is specified from 0.025Ω to 2.68Ω. The new inductors also feature high attenuation at low frequency and are constructed with flame retardant plastic bobbins.

The new 7400 and 7500 Series Inductors are priced from $0.98 to $1.31 each with delivery in 4-6 weeks.

J.W. Miller offers a full line of high-quality surface-mount and through-hole coils, chokes, inductors and transformers for short run or high volume production requirements and maintains a large inventory of standard components for quick delivery.
