Commetrex and Tensilica Announce Commetrex Fax Solutions for Tensilica's Processor Cores


ATLANTA and SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 2 -- Commetrex Corporation, a leading provider of HMP (host media processing) media servers and networking products for converged networks, and Tensilica, a leader and major innovator in configurable processor technology, today announced that Commetrex' fax technologies now support Tensilica's Xtensa configurable and Diamond Standard processor cores. This proven solution, already shipping in high volume, will give Tensilica's customers a complete, off-the-shelf solution for products requiring built-in fax capabilities.

Commetrex is now licensing the following fax technologies for Tensilica's processor cores:

-- Image conversion library
-- FaxTap for fax recording/rendering both PCM and T.38 transactions
-- Fax Relay: T.38, I.366.2, FRF.11

This broad product offering provides everything required to quickly embed fax capabilities into a wide variety of applications.
