John Deere Fills Gap With 647, 657, And 667 Commercial Quik-Trak(TM) Mowers

John Deere fills the gap between traditional mid-mount zero-turn-radius mowers and traditional walk-behind mowers with the introduction of its 607 Series Commercial Quik-Trak(TM) mowers. The operator doesn't sit or walk; he or she stands on a standing platform. The model's compact size requires less trailer space and improves maneuverability and trimming ability.

The three models - the 19-hp 647, the 23-hp 657 and the 23-hp 667 - are all powered by air-cooled, vertical Kawasaki engines. Overhead-valve design provides more horsepower and torque per cubic inch of displacement, improved fuel efficiency and lower sound levels. Full-pressure lubrication reduces engine wear by ensuring proper lubrication even when operating on hillsides or uneven terrain.

The machine is controlled by dual-loop levers that function precisely as a zero-turn-radius lever system. Ground speed and direction are easily controlled by pushing the levers forward to move forward and pulling them rearward to go in reverse, lending itself to operators of all experience levels. A reference bar is included to reduce fatigue from control lever operation. A separate choke control requires less adjustment and saves time.

The operator platform is supported with suspension springs to absorb shock and provide a smooth, comfortable ride. An insulated, 2-inch-thick pad also absorbs shock and protects against engine heat to increase operator comfort.

All models are equipped with the 7-Iron side-discharge commercial mowing decks.

The 647 has a 48-inch deck; the 657 has a 54-inch deck and the 667 has a 60-inch deck. Mower deck cutting height can be adjusted from 1.5 to 5 inches in ½ inch increments without tools. A lever-assisted lift system allows the operator to move the deck into the proper position one side at a time with only a few pounds of force. Mulch kits are available.

An open engine compartment makes all service components easily accessible. The Quik-Trak series has one single-fill, top-draw fuel tank with a 6-gallon capacity and a large filler neck for easier refueling.

All John Deere commercial mowing equipment also has an exclusive two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty.
