Overview

The new 48X/24X/48X/16X Max CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combination Drive combines the best technology and functionality from CD-RW and DVD-ROM drives into one drive. This combination drive writes CD-RW and CD-R media and reads CD and DVD media.

IBM RecordNow CD mastering and writing software and Intervideo WinDVD DVD decoding software are included with the drive. You can create data and audio CDs, backup files, and play DVD movies - all with this new combination drive.

This drive conforms to the DVD Forum DVD-Multi Player specification, which ensures read compatibility across all DVD Forum endorsed formats (DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD-RAM). It also supports EasyWrite Technology (formerly Mt. Rainier), which allows you to store, move, and share large amounts of data with the same ease and convenience of a diskette.

This new offering benefits from industry-leading quality, reliability, compatibility, and testing programs. As one of the premier PC manufacturers, IBM installs and tests hundreds of thousands of optical drives every year.

This option assumes the warranty of the IBM PC system in which it is installed. For many IBM PCs, this entitles the customer to on-site service for up to three years.
