Bridgeport Fittings Introduces Combination Coupling

STRATFORD, Conn., March 25, 2008 - Bridgeport Fittings has introduced the 4157-DC, a combination coupling that enables contractors to join EMT to two AC/MC cables quickly and easily. In a typical installation a contractor has to support and install a junction box, connect the EMT and the AC/MC cable to the box and provide the required bonding, then splice two MC cables with the EMT conduit conductors. With the Bridgeport Fittings' solution, the contractor simply installs the transition fitting. The duplex AC/MC connector has a cable range from 14/2 to 10/3 MC. The EMT side is used for ¾" EMT. The couplings internal dimension allows the conductors to pass through to the EMT conduit without damaging the conductor insulation. The new 4157-DC is ideal for new construction and retrofit applications in schools and commercial buildings.
