New Snap-On High Performance Combination Brake Lathe

New EEBR312A is the versatile OEM-quality solution for rotors and drums on vehicles up to one ton KENOSHA, Wis., July 29, 2004-Snap-on Tools Company has introduced the top-of-the-line Combination Rotor and Drum Brake Lathe (EEBR312A) for high volume repair shops that recondition brake drums and disc brake rotors. Designed for quick set ups, the high performance brake lathe provides the correct finish for today's composite brake materials to comply with OEM specifications for both drums and discs from passenger cars through medium duty trucks. The Snap-on Combination Rotor and Drum Brake Lathe features a massive hardened-chrome spindle in a proven design, a floating shaft that runs in oil-fed bronze bushings and is endorsed by major OEMs. Built for years of trouble-free operation, a heavy-duty iron mainframe construction offers both durability and superior vibration damping. Setting a higher standard in rotor surface finish, the unit is equipped with Positive-Rake tool bits and is capable of delivering a deeper rough-cut and quicker finish-cut than its Negative-Rake equipped competitors. The Snap-on Combination Rotor and Drum Brake Lathe is powered by a one-horsepower motor mated to a variable speed gear box and hand wheel controls for easy adjustment of rough cut/finish cut settings. The tool is designed to service rotors and drums without lengthy changeover procedures between the two settings. The twin cutter tool reconditions both brake rotor surfaces simultaneously. The tool is adjustable with a micrometer dial and ensures accurate parallel cuts for finishing to stringent OEM requirements. A clear, plastic shield provides safety during use. The Snap-on Combination Rotor and Drum Brake Lathe is available in two complete packages (EEBR310ABP, EEBR310ADP) that include a heavy-duty workbench with a tool board, chip funnel, bucket and a range of adapters. Both packages include adapter sets that accommodate hubbed and hubless rotors and drums. The EEBR310ABP package services passenger cars and most light trucks up to one-half ton. The EEBR310ADP package handles most passenger cars and light trucks up to one ton. Both packages utilize the standard one-inch arbor with a 100-pound weight capacity. With the optional outboard support and 1.875-inch arbor, the EEBR312A can service drums and rotors up to a maximum weight of 600 pounds. Many optional adapter kits are available to expand the lathe's capability in servicing medium-duty trucks.
