New Bio-Rad IPG+1 Comb has Convenient Reference Well

HERCULES, CA, July 26, 2002 - Bio-Rad laboratories has introduced an IPG comb with reference well into its popular Criterion(TM) precast gel system. The new IPG+1 comb provides users with excellent spot resolution along with the convenience of a standards lane in 2-D electrophoresis.

This comb style is designed to fit 11 cm ReadyStrip IPG (immobilized pH gradient) strips without modification to the strip, and offers the added benefit of a reference well, for molecular weight standards for example.

New IPG+1 combs are available in the following gel types: 10% Tris-HCl, 12.5% Tris-HCl, 4-15% Tris-HCl, 4-20% Tris-HCl, 8-16% Tris-HCl, 10.5-14% Tris-HCl and 10-20% Tris-HCl. IPG combs without the reference well are also still available.

Criterion is Bio-Rad's advanced system of precast polyacrylamide gels with dedicated mini electrophoresis cells and blotters. The system is designed to provide reproducible, high-resolution in a minimum amount of time by reducing setup, loading and run times.
