Leadis Technology Announces the LDS184 65k Color STN LCD Driver IC, Further Expands Product Family and Enables Richer Color Display Images for Next Generation Mobile Handsets
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 10 -- Leadis Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:LDIS) , a leading mixed-signal semiconductor developer of color display driver ICs for small panel displays, today announced the LDS184 65k color STN LCD driver IC with integrated controller. The LDS184's maximum display resolution of 98 (RGB) x 70 combined with 65k color display mode enables deeper color depths and richer display images for next generation mobile handsets. Further accelerating the market transition to 65k color, the LDS184 65k color STN LCD driver IC is a highly integrated and cost effective solution that is optimized for enabling color displays in value-segment handsets and color sub displays in clamshell phones.

About the LDS184
The LDS184 65k color STN LCD driver IC is a highly integrated high performance device with integrated 109k-bit of display RAM (98 x 70 x 16 bit), on-chip oscillator, and temperature compensation for adjustment of VCLD and frame frequency providing fine tuning of the screen display for optimal performance.
In addition, the LDS184 has advanced programmable display features such as area scrolling and partial display mode enabling screen saver controls for power savings, color depth selection and N-line inversion for low cross talk providing for better screen performance.
The LDS184 65k color STN LCD driver IC supports four industry standard host bus interfaces: 3-wire serial interface, 4-wire serial interface, and 8-bit interface with 8080-series MPU and 6800-series MPU.
