Mobile Operator Color and Monitoring via Profinet

Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) supplies the new Simatic Mobile Panel 177 with 5.7" pixel-graphics display in several versions: three with Profibus connection and three for Profinet. All the new panels have two acknowledgement keys, designed for right-handed and left-handed users. The devices are optionally available with a stop pushbutton, or a combination of stop button, handwheel, key-operated switch and illuminated pushbutton in the full version. The display has also been improved and now screens 256 colors as opposed to sixteen on the predecessor models. The panel is operated using touch screen and fourteen additional membrane keys, eight of them with LED.

The new Mobile Panel 177 has a 2MB user memory as well as a retentive and maintenance-free message buffer. This makes it suitable for larger applications too. The device power-up time after docking is shorter than before. This time can be significantly reduced even more by means of an optional battery pack. Also new is the "connection point detection" feature which allows individual authorizations to be assigned or actions defined according to where the device is connected to the machine. The Mobile Panel is configured with WinCC flexible and expanded with optional packages for telecontrol and remote maintenance over the Internet. Projects can be created in up to 32 languages to facilitate global use, and these include languages with Cyrillic and Asian characters. From this diversity of languages, up to five online languages can be loaded onto the device simultaneously.
