Ricoh Americas Corporation Introduces the Aficio MP C2000

New Color Multifunction Product Offers Advanced Speed and Security

WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Sept. 28 -- Ricoh Americas Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today launched the Ricoh Aficio(R) MP C2000, a color multifunction product (MFP) that offers print, copy, scan and fax capabilities in a compact design. Joining the successful Aficio MP C2500/C3000/C3500/C4500 in the Ricoh color line-up, the MP C2000 combines economical, high-quality color, advanced scanning capabilities, flexible paper handling, and the latest security features, making it an ideal document management solution for any size organization.

Designed to manage the end-user's document workflow needs, the Aficio MP C2000 meets the demands of any business environment. With Full-Color and Black & White output speeds of 20 pages per minute (ppm), the Aficio MP C2000 can produce high-quality results in a short amount of time. Features such as the oversized, full-color LCD panel, Web Image Monitor and SmartDeviceMonitor make programming and monitoring a simple process for users.

Color documents produced by the Aficio MP C2000 surpass the standard for color quality in the office with Ricoh's patented PxP(TM) Toner technology. Additionally, the 3,200-sheet paper supply (with optional Large Capacity Tray) allows users to produce documents with multiple media types, weights and orientations. A variety of finishing features, including automatic stackless duplexing, 2/3 hole-punching, and the capability to create folded, saddle-stitch booklets, allows users to create customized, professional documents in-house, without the need to send these jobs to an outside vendor.

With the Aficio MP C2000, sharing information is simple. Ricoh Scan-to technology makes it easy to send all types of documents to any location -- instantly and securely. By combining electronic and hard-copy files, users can even create new documents from existing work even if the files are created in different applications and computer platforms. The built-in Document Server operates as an electronic repository for information, which is easily accessible for re-printing, re-faxing or editing. In addition, faxes can be sent directly from the PC and photos can be printed directly from a digital camera without the need for a computer.

Furthermore, Ricoh continues to make strides in providing the most current security features available to satisfy the all areas of document and network protection. There are several authentication methods built into the Aficio MP C2000 that control access to system functions and can restrict color usage. In addition, data and password encryption limit access to sensitive information and the optional DataOverwriteSecurity System protects information by automatically overwriting data on the hard drive after each copy, scan, fax and print job.

As with all Ricoh products, the Aficio MP C2000 is environmentally- friendly and meets ENERGY STAR guidelines by providing energy and supply- saving features including Color Quick Start-Up technology, power-saving sleep modes, duplex and combine copy modes, low noise levels and minimal ozone emissions.

The Aficio MP C2000 is available at a suggested retail price of $9,865 and the Aficio MP C2000SPF, which includes fax, is available for $10,988.
