New Color Progressive Scan CV-M77 Camera Provides 2.5x Higher Resolution That Predecessor While Maintaining Price Point

Laguna Hills, Ca. - JAI A.S, a world leader in high-performance industrial imaging products, introduces its new CV-M77, a one chip 1/3" Progressive Scan RGB output Color CCD Camera for machine vision, medical imaging, food processing, traffic monitoring and other vision system applications. The CV-M77 provides approximately 2.5 times higher pixel resolution (1034 x 779 vs. 659 x 494) than the company's popular CV-M70 predecessor - at the same price point. Providing the same pin-out as its predecessor, the CV-M77 allows a virtually seamless upgrade path to markedly superior performance. In addition, the CV-M77 now includes all JAI standard trigger modes, such as Pulse Width Control, Edge Pre-Select and Long Time Exposure.

JAI's new RS-232C communication protocol, featuring short ASCII commands, allows easy set-up and configuration of the camera's modes and parameters. Complementing the 12 fixed shutter speeds, ranging from 1 /25th to 1/10,000th sec., there is also a programmable shutter speed mode. Via RS-232C, this allows selecting shutter speeds from 76ps up to 40 ms, in 50ps steps.

Utilizing the latest technologies, the CV-M77 is lighter, requires less power to operate, and offers higher resolution and improved dynamic range, important OEM design considerations. The camera's 1/3" color CCD sensor (with Bayer pattern RGB primary mosaic filter) provides 25 full frames of video output per second.
