For many instrumentation or research applications, a pure gaussian beam is required. Our FC Series of collimators are designed specifically for singlemode fiber applications which need to generate a clean gaussian beam.

Available in beam sizes of 1.6mm to 20mm the collimator has an FC recepticale to accept any singlemode fiber. Output is adjustable to vary the beam for best collimation at the operating wavelength. The 1.6mm collimators are designed for instrumentation and distances less then 10 meters. For larger distances, such as in free space communications, the 5mm, 10mm and 20mm aperture collimators are well corrected to give a nice gaussian beam.

Other fiber collimator beam sizes can be done on a custom basis for volume orders. These are custom manufactured for the beam size required at a specified distance. An example is a 45mm fiber collimator with adjustable focus for collimation. Operating wavelength is at 1550nm and is used for kilometer distance.

All collimators have a stainless steel housing with an FC recepticle input and an adjustable focus output. Beam size is measured at less then 1% intensity value.

Special beam sizes are available for OEM volume orders. Custom beam or spot sizes, wavefront quality, wavelength region are also available on a custom basis.
