LEXINGTON, KY (January 14, 2002) -Lexair, Inc. introduces its new IC Mini-Collet Closer, the smallest the company has ever produced, which is designed specially for miniature workholding applications. Rounding out Lexair's complete line of precision air and hydraulic collet workholding systems. the IC collet closer is 1 1/2" square with a 3/4" diameter capacity and features fixed length collet clamping.
The economically-priced IC can be used as a single unit or in multiple configurations either horizontally or vertically, and can be activated by air or hydraulic pressure if more clamping is needed.
The IC pneumatic collet closer is precision machined from solid, aircraft-quality aluminum with hardened steel bushings to provide long-lasting, worry-free service. The new mini-collet closer can be mounted on vertical machining centers or CNC drilling and tapping machines and is ideal for applications machining miniature parts, especially medical devices, fuel injectors and computer components, said Steve Breslin, Lexair's national sales manager.
The IC mini-collet closer was added to the product line to meet increasing customer demand for smaller collet closers to manufacture miniature parts. It enhances Lexair's complete line of high quality air and hydraulic collet closers, Breslin said.
