ProDyne® Collet Chuck Increases Machine Productivity and Throughput
LEXINGTON, KY (May 6, 2005) - The compact ProDyne Fixed Length Collet Chuck features a quick change quarter turn collar system that allows set up changes to be performed in seconds, with no loss in accuracy. Its small size eliminates virtually all tool interference problems and allows machines to run at higher spindle speeds, improving productivity and throughput.
The ProDyne collet chuck is compatible with machines using an A-4, A-5, A-6, or A-8 spindle nose, and can be easily mounted using the machine's existing draw tube and actuator. The fixed length means no drawback as the collet closes. This design feature helps improve the efficiency of dual and sub spindle machines and bar feeder applications.
In typical applications, the ProDyne collet chuck offers TIR of .0005" and repeatability of .0002" using industry standard B42, B60, and B90 solid collets, without the need for adjustment. Master collets allow the use of Hardinge S series pads.
