Cold Jet Offers Manufacturers Safe, Efficient Cleaning Alternative

Cold Jet offers live demonstrations of dry ice blast cleaning at EASTEC 2008

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - May 20, 2008 - Manufacturers from up and down the East coast will be able to watch live demonstrations of Cold Jet's patented shaved ice blast cleaning technology at EASTEC 2008 in West Springfield, Mass. May 20-22. Prior to the show, the company invited manufacturers to bring soiled molds and machine parts to EASTEC to demonstrate the effectiveness of the company's dry ice blast cleaning systems. Cold Jet will clean whatever attendees bring at a live cleaning area located at booth 5843, in addition to exhibiting at booth 3139.

Cold Jet offers a variety of dry ice blast cleaning systems, including the i3MicroClean system, which features patented shaved ice and feeder technologies. The i3MicroClean delivers precision cleaning that is being used by semiconductor, electrical parts and medical manufacturers around the world. The system effectively and efficiently cleans delicate surfaces and small, complex cavities and crevices that other cleaning methods cannot reach. Cold Jet's family of Aero systems also provides advanced economical dry ice cleaning in an environmentally friendly format for a variety of industries.

"EASTEC provides a unique opportunity to reach manufacturers across a variety of industries, and allows us to demonstrate the wide breadth of applications where our dry ice blast cleaning systems can be used," said Gene Cooke, president and CEO of Cold Jet, LLC. "We have systems that are cleaning the largest tire molds, as well as systems that are being used to clean machines that help produce computer chips. In all cases, we have demonstrated that Cold Jet dry ice blast cleaning helps reduce cleaning time, improves productivity and eliminates a number of risks associated with traditional cleaning methods. Many manufacturers have also embraced Cold Jet's systems for their added benefits of contributing to lean and green initiatives."

Traditional cleaning processes in manufacturing environments include a variety of media blasting systems and potent chemical and solvents. These abrasive methods can damage the equipment and often require cleaning crews to shut down production and remove parts and equipment from the production line to contained areas of the plant prior to cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned, it then needs to be reassembled before production can begin. The entire process can take several hours, which to manufacturers is valuable production time.

Cold Jet's non-abrasive dry ice blast cleaning systems use compressed air to accelerate dry ice pellets and particles to create mini-explosions on the surface of the equipment being cleaned. The dry ice particles vaporize upon impact, leaving no other cleaning by-product and eliminating the added cost and inconvenience of secondary waste treatment and disposal. Cold Jet's cleaning systems are environmentally friendly and help to extend the life of manufacturing equipment. Cleaner molds and equipment help to produce better quality products, which have an impact on customer satisfaction and the bottom line.
