Kinefac Develops New Micro Continuous Coiler
Recognizing the growing need for a high-speed, economical process to make catheter casings, biopsy coils, and similar long, small diameter, round wire coils for the medical device industry, Kinefac Corporation - Sleeper Division introduces the newest version of its Micro-Coiler deflection coiling machines, the Micro Continuous Coiler. This machine can replace many winding type coiling machines producing coils as small as 175 microns in diameter from wire as small as 25 microns. It is designed primarily for close wound coils or coils of constant pitch. With the capability to produce a close wound coil with wire 75 microns in diameter at 1100MM per minute.
With a rigid structure and super precision, numerically adjustable, mounting points the coiling point can be adjusted laterally and radially and a pitch tool axially in 1 mu. increments. Combined with a pre-settable arbor and final guides it is possible to maintain coil diameter to plus or minus .0002 inches and easily adjust back tension to provide precise droop control.
The Micro Continuous Coiler incorporates a precise coil cut off system which provides a substantially burr free wire cut without distorting the end diameters. The cut off length can be controlled either by amount of wire fed or by remotely sensing the end of the coil.
To achieve this high level of coil diameter repeatability, The Micro Continuous Coiler, has its own integrated electrically controlled dereeler along with a precision balanced, three loop dancer arm buffer.
