Lightweight Coil Sheathing Nailer Proves Ideal for Contractors Demanding More Versatility
NOVEMBER 1, 2005 - NEW YORK, NY - BOSTITCH announced today the introduction of its new model N75C-1 coil sheathing nailer during a press conference at the Warwick New York Hotel. Global Product Manager Dan Burgjohann said. "The N75C-1 will soon become the most versatile sheather on the market. Contractors will grow to depend on its function and reliable performance for sheathing, siding, exterior trim, decking, and light framing applications."
With 630 inch-pounds of force, the N75C-1 touts more power than any other competitor in its class. Its tool-free '"dial a depth" adjustment is positioned in front of the trigger for setting nails quickly and conveniently with a single hand. According to Burgjohann, this feature is most critical when applying sheathing materials that easily lose structural integrity if nails are overdriven.
BOSTITCH chose magnesium - a premium metal weighing 1/3 less than aluminum - to construct the nailer's housing because of its lightweight, durable characteristics. Weighing only 4.9 pounds, the N75C-1 weighs ½ pound less than its nearest competitor. Burgjohann explains, "Field Research has indicated that many contractors still use 8-1/2 pound tools for sheathing. It's no surprise that they saw immediate gains in speed and comfort after trying a tool that is 3-1/2 pounds lighter. Once they put the N75C-1 in their hands, they were hooked on the tool."
With a magazine capacity of up to 300 nails, the N75C-1 accepts wire-weld coil and plastic inserted nails ranging from 1-1/2" to 3" in length with a shank diameter of .092" to .131". It touts a slim body design for maximum line-of-sight during precise applications such as siding or exterior trim. Additionally, the unit features a mildly aggressive serrated tip to avoid damage to sensitive materials. A removable non-marring nosepiece is also included for added protection.
Steel wear guards with rubber skid pads protect the N75C-1 's housing from daily wear and tear while a tool-free 360° adjustable exhaust directs blow-back out and away from the user. The unit's lightweight design, combined with an over-molded grip, works with the user to maximize comfort and minimize fatigue during overhead applications or prolonged use.
The N75C-1 sheathing nailer allows the end-user to decide which type of firing mode best suits their needs. A contact trip (bump fire) trigger comes standard on each unit; however, it includes an additional trigger that converts the tool to sequential mode if desired. Currently available on the market, the N75C-1 is expected to sell for approximately $319.
