Cognitec Announces Major Contract Award from Government of Estonia for Face Recognition Software


Dresden, January 8, 2007 - Cognitec Systems, the leading provider of
face recognition technology and systems, announced an important deal
with IBM Estonia. IBM Estonia has won a contract from the Estonian
Ministry of Internal Affairs, Citizenship and Migration Board, for a large
ID Management system.

The main goal of the new system is to establish effective and objective criteria
for person identification as well as the detection of misused identities. The
system is based on Cognitec's FaceVACS-SDK software that allows the
implementation of various use cases of facial verification and identification.
Starting in March 2007, Estonia will also include biometric information in newly
issued travel documents.
