Cognex to Demonstrate Vision Systems and ID Readers at the 2011 Rockwell Automation Fair

NATICK, MA - Cognex Corporation (NASDAQ: CGNX), the world's leading supplier of machine vision systems, announces that it will demonstrate its latest vision and ID systems in Booth #146 at the upcoming Rockwell Automation Fair, scheduled to take place November 16-17, 2011 at McCormick Place West in Chicago, IL. Cognex also will highlight the latest version of its operator interface software running on a Rockwell PanelViewPlus. This visualization option saves valuable space by eliminating the need to install a new monitor and makes vision system and ID reader integration more seamless.

Cognex® ID Readers offer the most advanced technology available for 1-D barcode and for 2-D Data Matrix code reading. With the best performing hardware on the market, in both handheld and fixed-mount reader formats, Cognex can successfully read codes that other readers cannot. As a result, image-based readers are rapidly replacing laser scanners in a wide range of manufacturing and logistics applications. High-speed Ethernet/IP communications and Power over Ethernet (POE) reduce cost and simplify integration by eliminating the need for a separate power supply or communication line.

DataMan® 500 offers consistent, reliable reading of 1-D barcodes that lasers cannot read, including damaged, distorted, blurred, scratched, low height and low contrast codes. It also reads codes presented in any orientation, multiple codes within the same image, and 2-D codes such as Data Matrix and QR codes. With no moving parts to wear out, the DataMan 500 also offers exceptional reliability, lower maintenance and longer product life.

Available in a wide range of models to meet any price and performance requirement, Cognex Machine Vision systems set the standard for automated inspection and quality assurance across a wide range of industries. In-Sight® vision systems can be easily integrated with any factory network or automation control system and feature an optional operator display panel for monitoring the runtime operation of any In-Sight vision system on the network.

Cognex In-Sight 5605 vision systems for high-resolution applications provides 2448 x 2048 (5 MP) resolution for high accuracy gauging, defect detection and ID reading, and allows accurate inspection and ID on larger packages.
