Cobra Honored for Innovative Radios by Consumer Electronics Association

Marine VHF and microTALK® Radios Named Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award Honorees

CHICAGO, Nov. 20 / -- The Consumer Electronics Association named two of Chicago-based Cobra Electronics' (NASDAQ:COBR) products as Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering honorees. The microTALK® LI 7200-2 WX VP -- Cobra's most powerful lithium ion GMRS two-way radio -- and the MR HH425LI VP were officially announced Nov. 13 as honorees at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show Press Review in New York.

The LI 7200 -- part of Cobra's 2008 two-way microTALK® line -- provides the maximum power allowed by law, extended range and no-nonsense features in an ultra-compact two-way radio value pack, which includes the highest capacity lithium ion batteries in the industry and a desk charger. The LI 7200 offers up to a 27-mile range and up to 3,124 privacy combinations, as well as other Cobra mainstays including 10-channel memory; selectable high, medium or low power options; and SCAN for quick conversation location.

The HH425 with Rewind-Say-Again(TM) allows boaters to replay calls as well as record messages for later playback, which means missing an important call over a noisy engine is no longer a problem. In addition, with one push of the band key, the HH425 transitions from marine VHF frequencies to one of 15 GMRS channels, making it the first fully-submersible five-watt All-Terrain Radio.

"We are thrilled to add this recognition to Cobra's growing list of awards from the Consumer Electronics Association," said Tony Mirabelli, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Cobra. "The products selected for this honor are truly the best of the best, and Cobra's inclusion speaks to the fact that we continue to innovate in all of our categories."

Other Cobra features offered through both radios are the patented VibrAlert® for silent alerts; VOX Hands Free transmitter, which recognizes when a person is speaking and automatically begins transmitting; and 10 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather and hazard alert information channels.

The LI 7200 will be available in January at an MSRP of $89.95, while the HH425 is currently available at an MSRP of $169.95.

The LI 7200 and HH425, as well the entire family of Cobra two-way, mobile navigation, radar detection, citizens band and marine products will be on display at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 7-10.
