Cobra Electronics Navigates a Path to an ICES Innovations Award
The NAV ONE 4500 Continues the Tradition of Cobra's Award-Winning Products With Prestigious Innovations Award From the International Consumer Electronics Show
CHICAGO, Nov. 17 /-- The International Consumer Electronics Show (ICES) announced today that Cobra Electronics (NASDAQ:COBR), a leading manufacturer of navigation and communication products, is an Innovations 2006 Design and Engineering Showcase honoree in the Vehicle/Mobile Electronics category for its new mobile navigation device, the NAV ONE 4500(TM). The Cobra product is the first fully integrated portable navigation unit featuring real-time traffic.

For the NAV ONE 4500, Cobra offers technologically advanced features, such as:
-- A plug-and-go system including a matchbook-sized traffic receiver, ready to go right out of the box
-- Real-time traffic providing up-to-the-minute traffic information in 48 major metropolitan areas with rerouting options
-- 7.6 million points of interest, including restaurants, lodging and amusement
-- Personalized route preferences allowing drivers to avoid or prefer certain road segments and select route criteria
-- An exclusive compare routes feature, allowing the driver to visually compare two route options
-- A five-inch screen with automatic brightness control for sunlight readability
The NAV ONE 4500 is available at an MSRP of $1,099.95, and includes the traffic receiver and a free three-month traffic service subscription. A subsequent 12-month traffic subscription is available for $59.95.
The ICES Innovations Awards, which is the most prestigious awards competition in the consumer electronics industry, is endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America and sponsored and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Cobra Electronics has been honored with over 26 ICES awards since the award program's inception, with two in the mobile navigation category.
The NAV ONE 4500, as well as Cobra's other featured product lines, are on display at Cobra's booth, #12433 in the Central Hall, at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 5-8, 2006.
