Sumitomo Introduces New T2000Z Coated Cermet for Steel Turning



Mount Prospect, IL (November 4, 2002) - Sumitomo's new T2000Z is an excellent grade for high speed finishing in steel applications. This grade is a perfect solution for applications where cermet is too brittle and carbide wears rapidly. It possesses very high heat resistant properties and superior toughness.

The T2000Z is coated with Sumitomo's unique ZX coating technology that creates an ultra smooth, coated cutting edge. Features of the ZX Technology include, high hardness, excellent oxidation resistance, smooth coating surface, high strength, excellent peeling resistance. The T2000Z's new coating and substrate reduces both tool wear and breakage as well the smooth ZX coated cutting edges provide a superb surface finish.
