CoachCrafters, Inc. Inks Contract with the Centre Area Transportation Authority for Transit Bus Rehab and Enhancement Project

Tavares, FL (September 18, 2009)-In an ongoing effort to assist transit agencies in keeping their fleets performing at optimum efficiency, CoachCrafters, Inc. has entered into a contract with the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) to rehab 10 CATA buses.

The scheduled work will include the removal and replacement of body skins and repainting the entire exterior of the bus. At the same time, the air system (including valves) will be updated and the air conditioning system will be replaced with a new Thermo-King unit and new motors will be installed. The interior will also be refurbished with new seat inserts and new air ride style driver's cockpit seating. Additionally, all exterior lighting will be replaced with new L.E.D. type lighting.

While CoachCrafters is completing this work, FAB Industries will be working on replacing worn CNG lines and adding additional fuel capacity to some of the units. CoachCrafters president, Wayne Wolf, is pleased to be able to assist CATA in their efforts. "When complete, the buses will provide greater comfort and safety for CATA's riders and drivers. The work will extend the life of the buses and cut down on fuel consumption and emissions. CoachCrafters always welcomes the opportunity to perform this type of service for our clients, as it combines the qualities our company is best known for, safety, cost-savings, and the preservation of our environment."

This project is approved and funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation, through a grant to CATA, under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which promotes economic recovery and reinvestment in the nation's infrastructure and related activities.
