Voumard Introduces Large Capacity High Precision Grinder
Elmsford, NY November 19, 2002.VOUMARD, Inc. announces the new 300 CNC large capacity grinding machine for multiple parts grinding in one setup. With up to 8 axes available, the 300 features a variety of chucking devices to clamp both short and long components. The turret can be equipped with 4 spindles permitting internal and external grinding operations. Precise indexing is assured by HIRTH gear curvic coupling. In addition, the 300 utilizes a spheroidal one single piece cast iron bed for optimum rigidity and stability. The machine is equipped with the Siemens 840D control with Windows(TM) NT interface and logical and friendly VOUMARD developed software to handle small batch or high volume production work. Optional axes provide greater flexibility including U axis workhead cross slide to increase OD grinding capacity; B axis workhead spindle for taper grinding; C axis workhead spindle rotation control for cam or thread grinding; and D axis providing complementary axis for dresser point rotation control. As as result the 300 is ideal for thread grinding, out of round grinding, cams and other purposely out of round parts, internal diameters, back and front faces, profiles, drive spigots, bearing tracks and more. A wide range of automation system are available including loading/unloading devices, gantry loading system, robot loading cell and conveying system for large components.
