New OD/ID CNC Grinder Also Operates Manually for Optimum Versatility

(Miamisburg, OH - April 2003) The new EJ29 "Silver" grinding machine from Erwin Junker Machinery, Inc. is a multi-functional OD/ID grinder that is packaged and priced for value. With a between centers clamping length of 31 inches (800mm), the EJ29 can accommodate a wide range of cylindrical parts in production runs from one piece to large lots.

The main benefit of this machine is not only an attractive paint job, but all of the special features offered as standard and with a basic CNC grinder price tag. For example, according to Junker, many operators wish they had the flexibility to sometimes operate a CNC machine manually in certain applications. With the EJ29, they can. Separate, convenient electronic handwheels are supplied to manually move the X and Y axes. For CNC operation, the machine uses a high-end Fanuc system equipped with dedicated graphics-based software for pendulum, plunge-cut, shoulder, and internal grinding. It also features manual or automatic dressing programs with grinding wheel and diamond compensation. There is a glass scale on the X-axis for excellent positioning repeatability. The list of features goes on.

In addition to the machine itself, the company also offers a host of support programs as part of the EJ29 package. A sampling of these include free installation and three-days of training at the customer's facility, and an exclusive EJ29 Silver service hotline.
