Strippit/LVD Introduces New Cadman® Express Control for PPEB-4 Press Brakes

Akron, New York-Strippit/LVD introduces the new CADMAN® Express CNC control for its PPEB-4 series of precision hydraulic press brakes. CADMAN® Express is a Windows® NT based system founded on the same powerful yet user-friendly design of Strippit/LVD's popular CADMAN® CNC controller. It is able to control up to four digital axes.

CADMAN Express features an Intel Pentium microprocessor, 20 GB hard disk drive, CD ROM and 12" TFT screen. The control provides an operator-friendly user interface for all levels of programming experience. It simplifies the programming process by requiring a limited input of data, allowing programming to be quickly and easily accomplished at the machine.

The control also provides a number of automatic features to simplify use, including automatic calculation of bend allowance, automatic selection of tools based on material thickness, and automatic calculation of lower dead point (Y-stroke). It features graphical representation of tools, program overview in editor mode and in production mode, graphical representation of tools and backgauge in production mode, and an easy method for adjusting correction angle and correction of bend allowance.

CADMAN Express also permits importing of offline programs and tools from an offline system, exporting and importing of tools and programs from a floppy, CD-ROM or network. Parts storage and tool directories can be stored offline.

The control supports several languages.

The CADMAN Express control is offered on the PPEB-4, a servo-controlled press brake with a maximum Y1-Y2, X, R configuration. The PPEB-4 is available in capacities from 90 to 240 tons and bed lengths from 78" to 157" (2000 to 4000 mm).

The PPEB-4 is part of Strippit/LVD's PPEB line of precision hydraulic press brakes. The PPEB-4 incorporates many of the PPEB series standard features. It is built using a welded one-piece frame, machined without repositioning and stress relieved by vibration to guarantee machine precision. Hydraulic cylinders are machined from a solid steel billet. Pistons are steel forgings, precision ground and micropolished for years of trouble-free service.

A solid two-axis backgauge allows depth (X-axis) and height (R-axis) positioning of the two standard backgauge fingers. Backgauge fingers are prestressed, preventing them from moving out of position. The standard PPEB backgauge with three gauge positions allows gauging to 39.4" (1000 mm) using material supports.

Strippit/LVD is a leading manufacturer of metalforming equipment, including laser cutting machines, CNC turret punch presses, flexible fabricating systems, press brakes, shears, and programming software.
