Milltronics Showcases New 8200 CNC Booth #S-8327

WACONIA, Minn -- Milltronics' new 8200 CNC control will be showcased in demonstrations on their full line of milling machines at IMTS 2010: tool room, vertical, horizontal, twin table and bridge mills.

According to Jim Broz, director of new product development, the 8200 CNC is built upon a robust real time Linux-based kernel, RTLinuxPro. "The 8200 offers faster, quicker, greater number crunching capabilities that are especially critical for high speed and multi-axis machining" said Broz.

The 8200 has all of the user-friendly features Milltronics CNC controls are known for and more: compatibility with all G & M Code programs plus macro programming, auto routines, trig help, and all the benefits of conversational programming. The new "Mill Away" function has been added for mid-program offset adjustment; especially helpful for 3D contouring operations in mold making. All electrical/mechanical and programming manuals will all be stored right on the 8200 control for quick customer access.

The new control has a state-of-the-art user interface with wire frame and solid model graphic modes standard. By selecting the "Fast Verify" feature, the operator can run the program at 100 times speed. Both graphic modes look ahead of actual machine position when executing so the operator can see where the tool is going before it gets there.

File management convenience is enhanced with USB and Ethernet networking capabilities.
Establishing communication of shop floor production data is easier since this control is compatible with MT Connect (communication standard sponsored by The Association for Manufacturing Technology). Examples of production data may include operating state, job numbers, part count, feeds, speeds and times, axis and spindle loads, tool life and much more.

Third order motion control incorporates a jerk limiting algorithm in rapid, feed, and high speed look ahead. The operator can select characteristics to tailor motion control performance for specific applications that demand faster speeds or smoother operations. The algorithm enables smooth application of half g acceleration, reducing cycle times in part programs with high feedrates. Processing speed is 2000 blocks per second.

Milltronics offers two-year warranty on parts standard. Offline software is available. Upgrades for earlier control series are available.
