CMOS LDO Voltage Regulators drive up to 300 mA.

Press Release Summary:

Housed in 0.645 x 0.645 mm WCSP4E package, TCR3DG Series features output current up to 300 mA, low drop-out voltage of VIN-VOUT = 160 mV (typ) at 3.2 V output, and output voltage accuracy of 1%. Regulators include over current limit protection, thermal shutdown, output auto-discharge, and inrush current reduction. Using small ceramic input and output capacitors, series is suited for portable applications that require high-density board assembly such as Wi-Fi® 2 chip sets for smartphones/tablets.

Toshiba Introduces New CMOS LDO Voltage Regulators

Housed in Industry's Smallest Package; Capable of Driving up to 300mA

IRVINE, Calif., -- Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC)*, a committed leader that collaborates with technology companies to create breakthrough designs, today announced a new series of low drop-out voltage regulator products – the TCR3DG series. The TCR3DG series has high output voltage accuracy with multiple built-in functions such as over current limit protection, thermal shutdown, output auto-discharge, and inrush current reduction. These features make the TCR3DG series able to be used in various applications that require high performance LDO regulators in small packages.

Small ceramic input and output capacitors can be used with the TCR3DG series, making these devices suitable for portable applications that require high-density board assembly such as Wi-Fi® 2 chip sets for smartphones and tablets, power supplies for cameras, and wireless power control for wearables, laptops, digital video cameras, storage equipment and set-top boxes.

The TCR3DG series are CMOS general-purpose single-output voltage regulators with an on/off control input, and feature low drop-out voltage, low output noise voltage and low inrush current. Toshiba's new voltage regulators are housed in an WCSP4E package (0.645×0.645 mm, t: 0.44 mm), which is the smallest available*1, and have an output current of up to 300 mA. In spite of their small size, the TCR3DG series is able to achieve output voltage accuracy of one percent (1%) and extremely low drop-out voltage.
