CMMS Maintenance Management Software for Manufacturing Plants, Facilities, Vehicles, and Utilities

SMGlobal has released FastMaint CMMS v. 6.0, a powerful maintenance management application for the maintenance of equipment and facilities. FastMaint CMMS lets managers track regular maintenance and emergency work, send work orders to the maintenance staff on their mobile phones, receive and process feedback from the maintenance staff, and track the progress of all outstanding and completed tasks.

The software allows each enterprise to define its own equipment, facilities, parts, work orders, vendors, and other items. FastMaint CMMS tracks equipment and facilities, manages inventory, and maintains vendor records for ordering parts and equipment. The software can help maintenance staff balance workloads and minimizes overtime work.

FastMaint CMMS is available in four editions, allowing businesses to upgrade the software as their companies grow in size and complexity. The Basic and Standard editions are designed for enterprises with a single user managing the maintenance process. The software automatically schedules maintenance activities based upon dates, meter readings, emergency conditions, or any criteria that the user requires. It's easy to create work order templates for planned maintenance, and to deal with breakdowns and other emergencies. You can insert pictures, and link your work orders to outside supporting documents.

The Basic and Standard editions fully support the software's tracking of assets, parts, and vendors. These editions also support customized reports and work orders, workload balancing, and purchase order processing. You can use the Basic and Standard editions to send work orders to the maintenance staff via email or SMS text which will arrive instantly on their mobile phones, even if they don't use smart phones.

With the Professional and Web editions, the maintenance people can also update and close work orders by sending responses from their mobile phones.

The Professional and Web editions support multiple users using the system at the same time. It's easy to define user groups, and restrict access to sensitive information to certain groups. You can submit work orders and check their status using a web browser. The Web edition lets you automatically generate reports and email them to the appropriate people.

A new feature of version 6 of FastMaint CMMS is the one-page Statistics report that at a glance enables management to compare current performance with prior periods. This Statistics report makes it simple for managers to see the current work order backlog, the percent of completed work orders, the work order estimating accuracy, the equipment that requires the most work, equipment downtime, and other critical information.

A single-user license for the Standard edition costs $995(US). The Professional and Web editions have prices that start at $2,495(US). The Basic, Standard, and Professional editions run on Windows 7/Vista/XP.

The Web edition allows access using a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla FireFox or Google Chrome.
