Climashield® Selected by Beyond Clothing for Cold Weather Survival Gear

American-made lightweight thermal insulation helped shave an entire pound off the industry standard without hindering warmth

WASHINGTON – Today, at Modern Day Marine, Climashield® (Booth 3406) announced a collaboration with Beyond Clothing, a company dedicated to creating technologically innovative apparel that is 100 percent American made and sourced. Utilizing Climashield®'s trademark continuous filament insulation, the AXIOS Cold Jacket and Pant provide warmth, even in wet conditions, where it is critical to endurance in adverse weather situations.

Serving multiple functions, the AXIOS Cold Jacket and Pant allow the user to move around in a cold environment and work while maintaining body heat, but can also act in place of a sleeping bag in mild climates to save weight when the user is carrying all their gear. And with the ability to discard moisture via Climashield®'s AquaBan® technology, this layer is critical to staying dry on an extended trip in the backcountry. If wet from sweat or external factors, users can simply apply the Cold Jacket and Pant on top of wet clothing and let their body heat dry everything out.

"Our team members have years of experience in developing technical survival systems to withstand the most extreme cold weather conditions found across the globe," said Rick Elder, president of Beyond Clothing. "Climashield®'s insulation offers a superior warmth-to-weight ratio, along with the ability to shed moisture and maintain loft -- it is one of the most advanced synthetic insulations we have tested."

"When showing our product to customers, we like to keep the talk to a minimum and let the product speak for itself. Beyond Clothing shares our values, conducting extensive field tests to vet every material that goes into their gear," said Brian Emanuel, general manager at Climashield®. "The result of our collaboration is advanced cold weather gear that will satisfy the tireless demands of their discriminating high-end users."

Employing the latest innovations in technical fabric, the AXIOS collection is engineered for use as a system, with each piece complementing the layer beneath it with offset seam lines and anatomical shaping for fit and comfort. The Cold Jacket and Pant are the warmest items in the collection and are well suited for cold alpine environments.

Attendees at Modern Day Marine, held at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, VA, from September 23-25, 2014, can view the AXIOS Cold Jacket and Pant on display at Climashield®'s Booth 3406.
