Clearfield's New FieldSmart Fiber Entrance Cabinet (FEC) Provides Fast & Easy Turn Up

MINNEAPOLIS (July 30, 2009) - Clearfield Inc. (NASDAQ: CLFD) announced today the FieldSmart Fiber Entrance Cabinet (FEC). Easy to order, easy to install and easy to re-enter, the FieldSmart FEC reduces the operational expenses associated with fiber deployment as it facilitates rapid service turn-up times.

Reflecting Clearfield's design methodology of providing scalable platforms, the FieldSmart FEC allows the user to dedicate 288 fibers of splice capacity and grow with ganging options as fiber needs dictate.

Transitioning from inside to outside plant cable has never been easier. Unlike competitive solutions, ordering is made effortless with just three decision points: the number of 288 max-capacity housings needed, splice trays desired and cable entrance plates required.

"Clearfield's design team is dedicated to reducing the cost of broadband deployment," comments Cheri Beranek Podzimek, president & CEO of Clearfield. "The FieldSmart FEC is another element of our aggressive product development efforts to give broadband service providers the tools needed to make universal broadband deployment a reality."
