Class II Surge Arresters use MOVs and GDTs.

Press Release Summary:

Available from 1–pole to 4–pole, DRS Series uses removable modules consisting of thermally protected MOVs, MOV in series with gas discharge tubes, and GDTs only. DIN rail-mountable devices provide both visual and electrical indicator in case of failure, and meet short circuit current rating of 200 kA without internal fuse. Designed to meet UL 1449 3rd edition, KEMA certified surge arresters handle line voltages up to 385 Vac and maximum current ratings of 40 kA or 20 kA.
