TI Introduces the Smallest Class-D Audio Amplifier for Portable Devices
Low-noise, high-efficiency amp supports louder audio, smaller size and lower power use
DALLAS, -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) today introduced a 3.2-W, mono Class-D audio amp with an integrated digital-to-analog converter (DAC) noise filter that reduces codec noise by as much as 82 percent, compared to devices without this feature. The TPA2011D1's integrated noise filter could eliminate the need for an external filter on the inputs, reducing component count and cost. The Class-D amplifier's 1.2-mm x 1.2-mm package size makes it 25 percent smaller than competing devices, further saving space for designers who are looking for 0.4-mm pitch for next-generation mobile phones and portable media players.
