Introducing SURVIVOR CT - The Industry's Only Inherently Limited Class 2 Transformer with a 75 VA Rating and Center-Tap Secondary Winding

Cincinnati, OH - Foster Transformer introduces the SURVIVOR CT Class 2 transformer with patented (US Patent #49511 168) short circuit and overload protection capable of withstanding a direct short circuit for more than 15 days. With a center-tap to the secondary winding, the SURVIVOR CT is ideal for use with 12 V halogen lamps. Using the center tap as a common connection allows users to operate higher wattage lamps (up to 75 W as standard or 100 W with custom configurations) while remaining within UL Class 2 requirements. Two 35 W halogen lamps can be operated with a single, standard 75 VA transformer, yielding a significant reduction in time and materials. This new center tap design is ideal for medical and dental equipment and others using halogen lights. These proven transformers can also be used on battery chargers, to power small motors, and in control applications where 12V and 24V are required. Built-in over-temperature protection with automatic reset allows this proven technology to be used in remote installations. The unique design eliminates the need for external protection typically provided by circuit breakers and external fuses. These innovative transformers can significantly lower installation costs by reducing the number of transformers used, as well as warranty costs while increasing customer satisfaction. Standard capacity is 75 VA with primary voltages of 115 V, 115/230 V, 200/230 V, and 460 V, with 24VCT output. Other primary voltages and VA ratings are available upon request. Each size/model includes UL Recognized Class 130 (B) insulation. IEC, EN and CE compliant designs are available. Alternate versions can be configured to meet specific customer requirements. Foster Transformer has been making electronic transformers, power supplies, and electromagnetic components for nearly 70 years. Their corporate headquarters, Engineering Lab and primary manufacturing facility is located in Cincinnati, OH. The ability to manufacture their own tooling, fixtures and unique production machinery, allows Foster to provide quick turnaround, start-up and support low-to mid volume from the Cincinnati plant. Additional manufacturing capacity is provided by manufacturing plants in Seymour, IN and Dongguan City, China.
