Clariant to Showcase Solutions Dedicated to Performance, People and Planet at ChinaCoat 2013 Exhibition
Clariant accelerates the move to sustainable solutions at China's leading coatings show
Shanghai - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will exhibit at the forthcoming ChinaCoat exhibition in Shanghai, China. With a theme reflecting its brand values of Performance.People.Planet, Clariant will emphasize innovative, sustainable solutions dedicated to good performance. The ChinaCoat exhibition will be held this year from November 20-22 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
Sustainable products and solutions have become a key trend for the coatings sector in recent years. In China's latest stage of economic development, where a fast-growing middle class is emerging, product quality is gradually taking over sheer quantity and productivity.
At Hall E2-E6, SNIEC, Clariant will showcase new product and solutions together with trusted innovations focused on meeting the specific needs and expectations of its customers in the market segments Automotive, Industrial, Decorative and Wood Coatings.

Easily Dispersible Pigments: An innovative approach for flexible, economic and sustainable paint production
Easily Dispersible (ED) pigments offer the unique opportunity to combine cost reduction with operational efficiency by simplifying the pigment dispersion process for organic pigments. With this innovative approach, ED Pigments are an easy and sustainable solution to achieve perfect colors.
POS Tinting Systems: One-stop-shop convenience
When Clariant acquired Italtinto in April 2011, the company gained more than 40 years of experience in tinting systems. As a result Clariant now provides its worldwide customers with Point-of-Sale (POS) Tinting Systems, a comprehensive solution to meet all their color needs.
Colanyl 100-CN waterborne preparations
Colanyl 100-CN is a range of binder and APEO-free aqueous pigment preparations with non-ionic and/or anionic wetting and dispersing agents for the coloration of clear and white base paints. The rheological profile of the Colanyl 100-CN grades allows exact dosing with automatic and manual dispensing machines and easy mixing with the base paints. All preparations show excellent stability with regards to sedimentation and skinning. The Colanyl 100-CN preparations meet the specific economic and technical requirements of the Chinese market.
In addition to showcasing products at ChinaCoat, Clariant's s Business Unit Pigments will present two technical seminars during the show: "Introduction of Clariant waterborne preparation in multi-color coating application" and "Application of Clariant IR reflecting pigment". Both of the applications focus on environmental protection and are based on green technology.

Exolit? AP: Superior fire protection that is efficient and more environmentally compatible
Clariant's flame retardants for intumescent coatings are the ideal method for combining an attractive architectural appearance with excellent fire safety. The ammonium polyphosphate (APP) Exolit* AP line of products produces no emissions during processing. The products also disperse easily in coating formulations when used with the majority of available binders. In the event of fire, they reduce smoke corrosiveness and density considerably.
Continued R&D on renewable waxes - launch of new Ceridust 8090 TP for wood coatings
Following the launch of the first new Ceridust grades based on renewable raw materials during the last Chinacoat in Guangzhou, Clariant continues to push forward with its new Ceridust 8090 TP, a strong and powerful additive for wood coatings, as part of its renewable product portfolio for Waxes. The product helps to protect the coated surface at the same time as allowing a soft and natural wood touch.
Further investments into Licocene and Ceridust capacity to come
Clariant has recently finished the installation of new milling capacity at its Gersthofen site in Germany, now ramping up the output of Ceridust micronized waxes by a further 15%, making the Gersthofen site the largest wax micronization unit worldwide.
Looking ahead, Clariant is exploring options for expanding production capacity of its high performance Licocene* low molecular polyolefins to meet increasing demand from the coatings and plastics sector, as well as from the technical textile segment.
In addition Clariant is looking into possibilities to strengthen its global production footprint with a specific focus on the Chinese region during the coming years, in order to offer tailor made solutions for the needs of its customers.
Hostavin dispersions: Highly-efficient water-based UV stabilizer dispersions offering better performance at lower dosage
Clariant offers coatings manufacturers a major step forward in enhancing the durability and UV protection of waterborne coatings with new high performance UV absorber Hostavin? 3330 disp. XP. The first high loaded triazine dispersion allows waterborne coatings to achieve the performance of conventional solventborne systems at optimized costs.
The addition of Hostavin? 3070 disp. XP in the formulation enhances these performance benefits further, thanks to its higher thermal stability combined with an excellent migration resistance. Furthermore, its improved toxicological profile, compared to traditional HALS, makes it free of any hazard labeling.
