SYCAMORE, IL, November 16, 2001 -- The IDEAL 700 Series 200 Amp Clamp Meter functions as a tester, multimeter or clamp meter, qualifying it as an economical and practical solution for residential, light commercial, and industrial/MRO applications.
Used as a tester, the 700 Series Clamp Meter offers an innovative non-contact voltage sensor on its tip to indicate the presence of 50-600VAC without the use of leads. Its Clean Power Indicator illuminates a green LED if less than 5% Total Harmonic Distortion is present, assuring the user that the voltage reading is accurate. In addition, it has a "shaker" that simulates the feel of a traditional solenoid tester when AC voltage is present.
When used as a multimeter, the meter lets the user check AC and DC voltage, AC and DC current, resistance, frequency and capacitance ranges, as well as to perform diode and continuity tests with accuracy comparable to high-end digital multimeters.
Employed as a clamp meter, the meter has 200 AC current capability and a handy "tear-drop" clamp design that makes it easy to separate wire bundles and clamp onto a single wire. Other test functions include data hold and Max hold.
Silicon test leads offer maximum flexibility in cold weather, plus can withstand contact with high heat without melting.
