Extech Instruments Announces New 1000A and 800A Clamp Meter Series
1000A series features built-in non-contact infrared thermometer
Extech Instruments, one of the world's largest suppliers of test equipment and portable printers, announces its new series of 1000A and 800A clamp meters. Each 1000A clamp features a unique, built-in, non-contact InfraRed thermometer with laser pointer to monitor temperature and locate hot spots on motors and electrical devices. Each 1000A meter features Min/Max, a Data Hold feature that "freezes" the data in the display, and an auto ranging feature with a manual range override.
Both series feature a large 4000 count LCD display with bright backlighting which allows the user to see the reading in dim light. The ergonomically designed double-molded housing offers a better grip when performing one-handed operations. All meters measure resistance, capacitance, frequency, and continuity, and offer a Fast Peak Hold that captures inrush currents and transients.
Each meter in the 1000A series measures AC/DC voltage and AC current, while the EX830 also measures DC current. The 1000A meters have a 1.7' (43mm) diameter jaw opening, large enough for conductors up to 750MCM, and both the EX820 and EX830 are True RMS models.
Each meter in the 800A series measures AC/DC voltage and AC current, while the EX730 also measures DC current. The 800A meters have a 1.2" (30mm) diameter jaw opening for conductors up to 500MCM, and both the EX720 and EX730 are True RMS models.
All clamps feature auto power-off and come complete with test leads, a 9v battery and a belt holster. The True RMS meters also come with a Type K bead wire probe for temperature measurements.
