Original Press Release:

Bosch Professional Series Circular Saw Blades Make Smoothest Cleanest Cuts

Mount Prospect, Ill., April 18, 2005 - Today, Bosch Power Tools and Accessories, a division of the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, introduced its first complete Professional Series circular saw blade line - 23 woodworking and 13-specialty blades specifically designed for the smoothest and cleanest cut in a broad range of materials. Each blade, packaged in its own innovative carrying/storage case, is ready for use anytime, anywhere.

Professional Series Woodworking Blades

Serious woodworkers appreciate the broad array of applications the new Bosch blade line accomplishes. Included amongst the 23 blades are fine cut, ripping, crosscutting, finishing, planer/combination, slide miter, melamine/veneer/laminate, solid surface, dados and special noise-reduction blades.

As one of the world's only carbide manufacturers, Bosch engineered a number of its woodworking blades with its patented C4 Micro-grain Dyanite Carbide to stay sharp up to six-times longer than standard carbide and provide the smoothest and cleanest cut possible. The Bosch blades utilize oversized industrial carbide tips, which are resharpenable for longer blade life. Each carbide tip is brazed with tri-metal shim technology, which sits between the carbide tooth and blade acting as a shock absorber to prevent breakage.

Bosch woodworking blade tooth counts range from 20 to 96, while hook angles span 20-degrees to negative-10; more than enough to satisfy a professional's diverse needs. Each blade body is laser cut and fully hardened, while a tension ring prevents warping and keeps select blades true to form in difficult conditions or applications. All of the blades, with the exception of two, are coated with a special anti-friction finish, which resists pitch and gum build up. The two exceptions, the 10-inch and 12-inch slide miter saw blades, offer special laser cut slots for exceptional vibration and noise reduction.

Professional Series Specialty Blades

From remodeling, roofing and general contractors to the nation's fire and rescue services, the 13 Bosch Professional Series Specialty Blades offer the highest quality and best performance. Laser cut, fully hardened and featuring tri-metal shim brazes similar to the woodworking line, these specialty blades are the toughest and most efficient blades on the market.

The Bosch 10-inch Fiber Cement Blade features a special gullet design to reduce dust, while patented diamond insert carbide teeth last up to 100-times longer than standard carbide. Carpenters and siding installers will really appreciate this long lasting blade, especially for its smooth cuts during heavy install jobs.

Four Bosch Non-ferrous/Plastic Blades, perfect for aluminum, copper, zinc and plastic, boast C3 Dyanite Carbide teeth that last up to six-times longer than standard carbide. For both construction and miter saws, the Bosch non-ferrous/plastic line includes 7-1/4, 8, 10 and 12 -inch blades with tooth counts ranging from 40 to 100. A zero-degree hook angle guarantees a smooth cut.

Two Bosch Nail Cutting Blades are perfect for Remodeling/Demolition work, 7-1/4 and 8-1/4 -inches, are specially designed with a negative-10-degree hook angle for cutting through nails with ease. Remodelers and roofing contractors installing skylights or other improvements never have to worry about these blades chipping or warping.

Three Bosch Rescue Blades, specially designed for use with gas saws, boast 24-tooth counts and a negative-15-degree hook angle. In rescue situations blade failure is not an option, so Bosch engineered its 12 and 14-inch blades with C2 Dyanite Carbide and tri-metal shim brazes to withstand the toughest of conditions.

Three Metal Cutting Blades, most often used with low RPM dry-cut saws, boast C6 Carbide teeth for the longest life of a blade in its class. The line offers 8-1/4, 10 and 12-inch blades with 40, 48 and 60 tooth counts, respectively. And for more comfortable use, they feature a special tensioned and hardened blade body for less noise and true run.

Innovative Carrying/Storage Case

Each Bosch Professional Series circular saw blade comes in its own innovative carrying/storage case. Made from reinforced textile material to protect the blade during transport and storage, such as shipping to a resharpener and back, each well designed case boasts a convenient carrying handle, space for wrench, allen key, bushings and stabilizers and enough space for a second blade.
